What are the design requirements for robot welding fixtures?

What are the design requirements for robot welding fixtures?

(1)The robot welding fixture should have the characteristics of quick action and convenient operation, and the operating position should be located in the part that is easy for workers to access and operate. When the fixture is in a clamping state, it should be able to self lock.

(2)The fixture should have sufficient assembly and welding space, and all positioning components and clamping mechanisms should be kept at an appropriate distance from the weld bead.

(3)Reliable clamping and appropriate rigidity. When clamping, it will not damage the positioning position and geometric shape of the welding, and after clamping, it will not cause the welding part to loosen or slip, nor will it cause excessive restraint and produce significant stress.

(4)During clamping, the surface quality of the welded part should not be damaged. When clamping thin parts, the clamping force should be limited, or measures such as limiting the stroke of the pressure head, increasing the contact area of the pressure head, and adding copper or aluminum liners should be taken.

(5)The force application point of the fixture should be located at the support of the weldment or near the support, to prevent the formation of force couples between the support reaction and clamping force, and between the support reaction and gravity.

(6)For ease of control, the structural forms of the locator and clamping mechanism should not be too many on the same fixture, and only one power source should be selected as much as possible.

(7)The fixture itself should have good manufacturing craftsmanship and high mechanical efficiency.
